Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative R&D Manager to lead our Research and Development team in the food industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science, product development, and innovation, with a focus on creating new food products and improving existing ones. As the R&D Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving product innovation and ensuring that our offerings meet market demands and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the R&D team in the development of new food products from concept to commercialization.
- Oversee the reformulation of existing products to improve quality, cost-effectiveness, and nutritional value.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, procurement, and production to ensure successful product launches.
- Conduct market research and analyze food trends to identify new product opportunities.
- Ensure that all products comply with regulatory and safety standards (FDA, USDA, etc.).
- Manage the R&D budget and resources efficiently to optimize project outcomes.
- Develop and execute project timelines, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Work closely with suppliers to source ingredients and packaging materials that meet product and sustainability requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate product performance post-launch to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies, processes, and trends in the food industry.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an R&D leadership role within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food formulation, ingredient functionality, and food processing technologies.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP).
- Experience managing multiple projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to innovate and think creatively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a specific sector of the food industry (e.g., bakery, dairy, plant-based, etc.).
- Familiarity with sensory evaluation and consumer testing methodologies.
