Job Title: R&D Manager – Food Industry

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative R&D Manager to lead our Research and Development team in the food industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science, product development, and innovation, with a focus on creating new food products and improving existing ones. As the R&D Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving product innovation and ensuring that our offerings meet market demands and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the R&D team in the development of new food products from concept to commercialization.
  • Oversee the reformulation of existing products to improve quality, cost-effectiveness, and nutritional value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, procurement, and production to ensure successful product launches.
  • Conduct market research and analyze food trends to identify new product opportunities.
  • Ensure that all products comply with regulatory and safety standards (FDA, USDA, etc.).
  • Manage the R&D budget and resources efficiently to optimize project outcomes.
  • Develop and execute project timelines, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Work closely with suppliers to source ingredients and packaging materials that meet product and sustainability requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate product performance post-launch to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, processes, and trends in the food industry.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in an R&D leadership role within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food formulation, ingredient functionality, and food processing technologies.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP).
  • Experience managing multiple projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to innovate and think creatively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a specific sector of the food industry (e.g., bakery, dairy, plant-based, etc.).
  • Familiarity with sensory evaluation and consumer testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using R&D software and tools for product development and testing.
