PRN – Day Care Setting

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team. As an occupational therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping children regain and improve their ability to perform daily activities. Working closely with patients, you will evaluate their needs and develop personalized treatment plans to address their unique challenges.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients by assisting them in reaching their maximum functional potential. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide holistic care that promotes independence and enhances overall quality of life.

 

-Provide Evals and Supervision 

-help with fine motor skills so they can grasp and release things and develop good handwriting skills

address hand–eye coordination to improve play skills (hitting a target, batting a ball, copying from a blackboard, etc.)

-help with developmental delays perform daily tasks more independently (toileting, bathing, getting dressed, brushing their teeth, feeding themselves, etc.)

-work with those who have sensory and attention issues to improve focus and social skills

-help those with behavioral disorders learn anger-management techniques (i.e., instead of hitting others or acting out, using positive ways to deal with anger, such as writing about feelings or participating in a physical activity)

-evaluate a patient’s need for specialized equipment, such as wheelchairs, splints, bathing equipment, dressing devices, or communication aids

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree – either a master’s degree or a clinical doc
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Adaptability and welcome change
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Good documentation and writing skills
  • Great personalities and people skills
