Maintenance Technician Class A – DAY SHIFT – (Crane Technician)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; and minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance. Ability to repair and maintain overhead bridge cranes Jib Cranes and other types of machinery require diagnosing and making solid recommendations to repair all equipment as needed.
- Must have knowledge in repairing, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems.
- Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to the sounds to locate cause of trouble.
- Perform monthly inspections on all production equipment and replacement parts; Confer with department managers to coordinate monthly inspections.
- Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections; repair or replace defective parts; install special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricate and clean parts.
- Start devices to test their performance.
- Operate overhead and jib cranes, operate industrial forklifts and man lifts.
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine.
- Ability to dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
- Ability to install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Layout, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Ability to repair and maintain the physical structure of establishment. Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site, ability to work overtime.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department
