We are currently looking for a Human Resources Director to come on-board one of our leading logistics client in the Itasca, IL Area. This position will be enhancing the companies strong culture by ensuring the client has a team-first approach in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. Working collaboratively with all levels of Leadership, the HR Director will lead and improve employee recognition and engagement programs, performance and talent management processes, training and development initiatives, and other key components to the employee experience. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience as a HR Leader in the Logistics Industry, ability to oversee multiple locations in the US, create and improve a company culture that encompasses all levels of the organization. This position is on-site, 5 days a week, in Itasca, IL with potential travel NJ and CA. Compensation is dependent on experience with potential bonus. Spanish speaking is highly preferred.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • The ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company
  • A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the “pulse” of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement
  • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
  • Coaching and mentoring at management level
  • Success in creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention and reward programs
  • Comfort using third party tools to support the HR department (eg. ADP PEO platform)
  • Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Understanding of the logistics industry (basic) and managing warehouse employees
  • Stellar internal and external customer service focus
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously – orientated on results
  • Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting hourly employee client groups (distribution, manufacturing, or call center environments)
  • Familiarity with managing nationwide organization, need to understand California, Illinois and New Jersey HR Policies
  • A completed Bachelors Degree from an accredited university
  • Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring direct reports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or MBA in HRM preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish: Effectively communicate in both languages
  • Prior experience working within an industrial, manufacturing, or logistics industry business
  • 5+ years experience in Fortune 500 company(s)
