- Maintain and improve the mechanical project design engineering process
- Utilize 2D and 3D software to design projects related to plant, line, cell and workstation layouts
- Work with process engineering teams to finalize project engineering initiatives, research cost of projects and present the projects to management for approval
- Lead cross-functional teams to complete demo, installation and startup of projects
- Manage timelines and budgets ranging up to 5M per project
- Facilitate timelines, schedules and planning with internal and external teams
- Establish continuous improvement directives related to mechanical projects
- Complete detailed data analysis
- Oversee up to 2-4 projects at a time with varying budgets and timelines
- Communicate with internal and external partners on the status of project timelines, including coordinating and leading teams
- Other engineering tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS for the Mechanical Project Design Engineer:
1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technologies, Manufacturing Technologies and Industrial Technologies highly preferred
2. At least two years of similar mechanical project design engineering experience at a manufacturing site
4. Design of plant, line, cell and workstation layouts
6. AutoCAD
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Automotive manufacturing work experience
2. Strong mechanical aptitude
3. Exposure to Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
4. Strong data analysis skills
