Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Long Beach, CA
Job Summary: The Project Engineer at Company is a key entry point into construction project management and our PE’s play a critical role in project success. The project engineer has the opportunity to work beside best-in-industry Project Managers and field management leaders. The role provides administrative and business support to facilitate the planning and coordination of project activities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and management of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Assist the Project Manager in determining manpower levels and arranging for assignment of project personnel.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
- Document, assist with estimating and monitoring all out of scope / change order instances.
- Identify potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
- Analyze and resolve issues, providing technical support and solutions as needed.
- Monitor project performance, identifying and addressing potential risks and issues.
- Prepare and maintain project reports, records, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Participate in project meetings, providing technical insights and updates on project status.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field and/or 3-5 years of experience in underground pipeline construction or a related industry.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and mitigate issues.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards related to pipeline construction.
